ThedaCare At Work, Bergstrom partner on employee clinic
Nurse Practitioners will Staff Near-Site Clinic in Neenah
Bergstrom Automotive teamed up with ThedaCare At Work to open a clinic for employees and their family members inside the new ThedaCare Physicians-Neenah.
Located on the second floor of ThedaCare Physicians-Neenah, the clinic for Bergstrom workers, their spouses and adult dependent children over the age of 18 is open Monday through Friday. The clinic is staffed by nurse practitioners Erin Dercks and Erica Stoeger. ThedaCare At Work operates similar clinics for other Fox Cities employers, including Appvion and the Kimberly Area School District.
“We wanted to help our team members improve their health and a near-site clinic will allow them to access the care they need quickly, conveniently and economically,” said John J. Hogerty, II, executive vice president and general counsel for Bergstrom Corporation.
Polly Elrod, an account executive with ThedaCare At Work, said nurse practitioners working at the near-site clinic provide acute care lifestyle/wellness visits, prescribe medication, triage acute conditions and order appropriate tests. The near-site clinic also uses ThedaCare’s electronic medical records so the provider can securely view the employee’s medical history. With this system, the employee’s primary care provider can also view what treatment is prescribed, which provides connectivity regarding care.
“Near-site and onsite clinics provide convenient care to employees so they miss less time at work,” Elrod said. “The clinic is an easy way to keep employees healthy.”
Bergstrom previously worked with ThedaCare At Work to launch an Employee Assistance Program and also brought in a ThedaCare At Work health coach to provide goal setting for employees to improve their health, Hogerty said.
“We have seen the benefits of both programs so the next logical step was the addition of a near-site clinic,” he said, adding that ThedaCare Physicians-Neenah is located within a couple of miles of several Bergstrom sites that employ about 500 people.
“Bergstrom has locations around the Valley – and around the state – but the Neenah clinic seemed to make the most sense as a starting point,” Hogerty said.
Headquartered in Neenah, Bergstrom Automotive is one of the top 50 automotive retailers in the United States. Owned by John and Richard Bergstrom, the company sells 32 brands of vehicles through 28 locations and employs more than 1,600 team members.
