QualityPath adds Fort Healthcare and expands Southwest Health role in 2018

MADISON — Fort Healthcare, Fort Atkinson, Wis., and Southwest Health, Platteville, Wis., have met the high quality standards required for participation in the QualityPath program from The Alliance, a cooperative of 240 employers with self-funded health benefit plans for employees and family members.

Fort Healthcare, Fort Atkinson, Wis., will be added to the QualityPath program for CTs and MRIs, while Southwest Health, Platteville, Wis., will expand its role in QualityPath with designation for total hip and knee replacement surgeries performed by Dr. Joshua Lindsey.

Fort Healthcare will become one of eight QualityPath providers at 19 sites for CTs and MRIs in 2018.

Southwest Health, Platteville, Wis., was designated to provide CTs and MRIs in 2017. As of Jan. 1, 2018, Southwest Health and Dr. Joshua Lindsey are designated to provide total hip and knee replacement surgeries performed by Dr. Joshua Lindsey as of Jan. 1, 2018. Southwest Health is also designated to provide QualityPath CTs and MRIs.

QualityPath is a three-year-old Alliance program that guides people to high-quality care with lower out-of-pocket costs while delivering savings to the employers who sponsor their health benefits. The Alliance is a cooperative that purchases health care on behalf of 240 employers and other organizations with self-funded health benefit plans in Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa.

Alliance employers have saved over $691,000 by guiding people covered by their health plans to high-quality care through QualityPath. That total does not include people who avoided surgeries as part of QualityPath’s processes aimed at preventing unnecessary care by urging doctors and patients to make better decisions, together.
