Thanks for your patience during the temporary hospital restrictions because of influenza

Spring is finally here and thankfully another season is abating – flu season. ThedaCare recently lifted restrictions limiting children from visiting our hospitals because of influenza and returned to our normal visiting policies for our medical centers in Appleton, Neenah, Shawano, New London, Waupaca and Wild Rose.

To protect vulnerable patients in our hospitals and throughout the communities we serve, ThedaCare initiated those restrictions in early January due to widespread flu cases in northeast Wisconsin. We took these steps to prevent the transmission of the virus to other patients, employees and visitors. We know this was an inconvenience to some people who wanted to bring children to visit friends or family in the hospital and we appreciate your patience and understanding for the steps we took to decrease the spread of the influenza virus.

Patient safety is our first priority at ThedaCare. We are committed to your well-being whenever you come to our hospital. Whether you are here for a diagnostic test, a hospital stay, or visiting someone you love, our goal is to create a safe environment for everyone.

We thank all those who took the restrictions to heart and limited their hospital visits over the winter.
