Primary Care Associates receives WCHQ top quality honors

MADISON — The Wisconsin Collaborative for Healthcare Quality (WCHQ) recognized Primary Care Associates of Appleton as a top performer at WCHQ’s annual Statewide Quality Improvement Event June 19 in Madison. Ann Taake and Jennifer Wentzel accepted the award on behalf of Primary Care Associates.

WCHQ annually honors a select number of member organizations for superior clinical performance and patient outcomes.

“The high level of performance that Primary Care Associates has achieved means they are dedicated to providing the best care possible, every time, to every patient,” according to WCHQ President/CEO Chris Queram. “The work that they are doing to attain, then sustain, that level of accomplishment is a testament to their dedication to helping the people in their community live longer, more productive and healthier lives. We are very pleased to honor their commitment and performance.”

Primary Care Associates ranked first among WCHQ members for their scores on screening patients for colorectal cancer screening and diabetes in 2017. Colorectal cancer can be prevented with regular screening. Early detection is crucial because when found early, this form of cancer is highly treatable. The risks associated with diabetes, when diagnosed early, can be greatly reduced.

WCHQ is dedicated to helping health care professionals improve the quality and affordability of health care through collaboration, sharing best practices, and publicly reporting information that health care organizations can use to benchmark and compare their performance. WCHQ’s membership includes Wisconsin’s integrated health systems, hospitals, medical clinics and independent physician groups. Visit WCHQ.org for more information.
