Stoughton hospital receives dental grant

Stoughton Hospital is partnering with Children’s Dental Center of Madison to provide outpatient
pediatric dental care and restoration for young children ages three and up with severe decay, anxiety or special needs that would be unable to tolerate dental procedures in an office setting and need general anesthesia.

In order to support the startup of the new dental program, Stoughton Hospital applied for a grant. The Delta Dental of Wisconsin Foundation awarded the hospital $25,585 for the purchase of the dental equipment used in surgery.

Tracy Wurtzler, Stoughton Hospital’s Surgical Services Manager, shares “we are very grateful for
this grant from Delta Dental and the opportunity to partner with Children’s Dental Center of Madison in providing care for this underserved population. Our surgical services team enjoys working with the dentists, their staff and the pediatric patients.”

Cecelia Thompson, D.D.S. and Britney Bries, D.M.D. have both been performing outpatient
procedures at Stoughton Hospital.
