DHS: 1,984 new cases of COVID-19 over the weekend, 16 more deaths

There were almost 2,000 cases of COVID-19 reported over the weekend, bringing the state’s total to almost 55,000 since the disease first appeared in Wisconsin.

There were 1,984 new cases reported this weekend in Wisconsin. The total is now 54,924.

There were 15 additional deaths reported on Saturday and one reported on Sunday.

Two recent cases were incorrectly reported as deaths, meaning the cumulative number of confirmed deaths in the state was 948 as of Sunday afternoon.

According to the Wisconsin Hospital Association data, there were 354 COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin hospitals as of Sunday afternoon, a one-day increase of 17. There were 110 in intensive care units.

There were 304 ICU beds available and 1,088 medical-surgical beds.
