Wisconsin sees daily record for new COVID-19 cases
Wisconsin reported 7,989 new COVID-19 cases on Wednesday, a new record. The total is now 331,837 cases.
There were 52 more deaths, for a total of 2,793.
An additional 20,129 more Wisconsinites were tested, for a total of 2,368,778.
The Department of Health Services said 74,616 cases are active.
The seven-day average for daily new cases is 6,563. The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 48.
As of Tuesday, the seven-day average positivity rate per person was 34.7 percent, and the seven-day average positivity rate per test was 16.9 percent.
There were 22 patients at the surge facility in West Allis on Wednesday morning.
