DHS provides more COVID-19 vaccination data 

State health officials expanded the information they’re providing about COVID-19 vaccine distribution on Tuesday, including who’s administering shots.

Per the data, healthcare providers gave 49.2 percent of doses, pharmacies gave 23 percent, local and tribal health departments gave 15.9 percent, community-based vaccination clinics gave 4.7 percent and other facilities provided the remaining 7.3 percent.

Vaccinators administered 2,384,898 doses through Monday, 89 percent of the 2,679,245 allocated by the federal government.

They’ve administered 1,242,323 Pfzer-BioNTech doses; 1,099,414 Moderna doses; and 43,057 Johnson & Johnson doses.

According to the Department of Health Services, 25.7 percent of the state’s population, or 1,494,521 Wisconsinites, have received at least one dose of a vaccine, and 15 percent, or 874,884 Wisconsinites, have completed their vaccination series.

Vaccinators gave 26,675 shots on Monday. The seven-day average is 45,262 doses per day.

DHS did not update case and death counts on Tuesday due to “technical difficulties.” They plan to have the data updated by Wednesday afternoon.

Per the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 217 COVID-19 patients hospitalized in the state, up 14 from Monday and two from last week.

There were 59 in intensive care units, up two from Monday and down two from last week.
