MCW to expand Tosa Center, add clinics
The Medical College of Wisconsin (MCW) plans to expand the Tosa Center building, located at the corner of Highway 100 and Watertown Plank Road in Wauwatosa, to bring in new clinics, renovate existing clinical space and provide physician office space. Approved by the City of Wauwatosa, construction will begin on the 40,000-foot expansion on August 3, 2015. The three-story expansion is slated for completion in May 2016, with remodeling of existing space completed in summer 2016.
Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin Plastic Surgery Center, Cascadia MediSpa, and Vein Clinic will relocate to the Tosa Center from their current locations in the Wisconsin Athletic Club building on Watertown Plank Road.
The SpineCare Clinic and Hand Clinic, which are currently located at the Tosa Center, will be expanded and renovated.
“We identified an opportunity to update and expand some of our clinical space, and also to bring together a family of clinics under one roof in a location convenient and accessible for patients,” said Daniel DeBehnke, MD, MBA. Dr. DeBehnke serves as the CEO of Medical College Physicians, the adult physician group of MCW.
During the construction, patients will continue to be seen at the existing clinic sites. Irgens, a Milwaukee-based commercial real estate firm, is overseeing the development and will continue to own the project. Kahler Slater is providing architectural services and CG Schmidt is the general contractor.
