Aurora cancer care sarcoma program named to Sarcoma Alliance

Listing highlights Sarcoma Center’s expertise and experience treating rare cancer

Milwaukee, Wis. – The multi-disciplinary sarcoma clinic at Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center has been named to the nationally recognized Sarcoma Alliance, a listing of leading sarcoma centers across the country.

The Aurora Cancer Care Sarcoma Clinic is a leading center in treating the rare cancer of the connective tissues, which accounts for only one percent of all adult cancers, according to the American Cancer Society.

To be named to the Sarcoma Alliance, cancer centers must meet a set of guidelines, including offering a strong multi-disciplinary team of experts, host sarcoma conferences (Tumor boards), where clinicians meet monthly to discuss patient cases, see a minimum number of patients per year, and offer clinical trials, among other criteria.

“Aurora Cancer Care is proud to be named to the Sarcoma Alliance and be recognized as a national resource for patients and their families struggling with this rare condition,” said Nicholas Webber, M.D
