Redox partners with Curative to help with COVID-19 test results reporting

Madison-based Redox is working with COVID-19 testing company Curative to help notify public health departments of the results of their tests.

Curative, which has labs in California and Washington D.C., was founded to develop tests for sepsis in January, pivoted to COVID-19 in early March. It uses an oral fluid-based testing method, rather than a nasal swab, that provides results in 48 hours.

Under the partnership, Redox immediately sends test results to state officials for reporting, contact tracing programs and to inform policies as economies reopen.

The two companies formalized their partnership in May. They’ve launched projects in 24 states. Wisconsin is not among the state. Three states – Delaware, Illinois and Texas – are now live.

Niko Skievaski, co-founder and president of Redox, said as soon as the pandemic hit, they looked for ways to help the healthcare industry, which is how they met Curative.

“Redox’s role is really only just supporting these innovations in the market,” he said. “We transform data and we move it from A to B through our network.”

That means that Redox has extended its network of more than 700 healthcare delivery organizations to include state public health agencies, which will enable other public health reporting, he said.
