DHS: 839 new cases of COVID-19, eight more deaths

The Department of Health Services reported 839 new cases of COVID-19 on Thursday, bringing the total to 57,779.

There were eight additional deaths reported, bringing the total to 978.

According to DHS data, 17,706 new test results were reported with a positive rate of 4.7 percent.

The seven-day average is 810 new cases a day. The seven-day positive rate is 5.7 percent. 

According to Wisconsin Hospital Association data, there were 330 total COVID-19 patients in hospitals, which was the same as Wednesday. There were nine more patients in intensive care units, for a total of 121.
