Froedtert Hospital Community Investment Fund grants $250,000 to six non-profits for health and wellness programs
Application Deadline For Next Round November 25, 2022
Milwaukee, Wis., (Oct. 20, 2022) – The Froedtert Hospital Community Investment Fund has awarded $250,000 in grants to six Milwaukee County non-profit organizations. The fund, administered through Froedtert Health Community Engagement, was established earlier this year to address health needs identified by the Milwaukee Health Care Partnership’s (MHCP) Community Health Needs Assessment, a survey conducted every three years by the MHCP in six southeastern Wisconsin Counties.
These are the first grants awarded from the fund. Funds will be used to support priorities identified in the 2021 Community Health Needs Assessment and Froedtert Hospital’s 2023-2025 Implementation Strategy for improving community health.
Recipient organizations include:
- CORE El Centro
- Frieden’s Food Pantry
- United Methodist Children’s Services
- Progressive Community Health Center
- Milwaukee Muslim Women’s Coalition
- Outreach Community Health Center
“Froedtert Health chose these partners because of their strong local presence and steadfast commitment to addressing mental health, drug and alcohol use/overdose and greater access to health care for those who live and work in the community,” said Andy Dresang, executive director of Community Engagement for Froedtert Health. “Equally important is the selected institutions align with our strategy to work with organizations who deliver programs and services to address health equity in the diverse communities we serve and represent a variety of stakeholder groups, including racial, ethnic, immigrant/refugee, disabled, elderly and faith-based organizations.”
- Qualifying organizations can apply for funding support up to $25,000.
- The next application deadline is November 25, 2022.
- The Froedtert Hospital Community Engagement Committee of the Board reviews applications quarterly.
- The committee is made up of leaders from the community and the Froedtert & the Medical College of Wisconsin health network.
