Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield Will be Presenting Sponsor at 2015 Fight for Air Climb

Milwaukee Climb on track to retain title as #1 Lung Association Climb in the nation

Brookfield, WI – Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield has once again committed to Presenting Sponsorship support of the 7th annual American Lung Association in Wisconsin Fight for Air Climb.  A supporter since the event’s beginning, Anthem’s sponsorship and fundraising efforts have contributed nearly a quarter of a million dollars to the fight against lung disease.

“Consistent partner support is a key ingredient to any successful event.  The American Lung Association’s Fight for Air Climb in Milwaukee, now the #1 Climb of its kind in the nation, both in terms of number of climbers and fundraising, owes a huge part of its success to the consistent support Anthem brings to the event,” said  Linda Witucki, Executive Director of the American Lung Association in Wisconsin. “Between their Presenting Sponsorship and their company team support, it’s no surprise that Milwaukee is able to beat out climbs in much larger cities.”

Anthem’s support has helped the Climb grow from a first year event with 500 participants raising $125,000 to a 2014 attendance of over 2700 and a total of $640,000 raised, making it the first and only Fight for Air Climb in the nation to raise more than $600,000.  2015’s goals are 3,000 climbers raising $700,000.

“Each year the event continues to grow, generating more and more enthusiasm and money for the fight against lung disease,” said Dr. Michael Jaeger, senior clinical officer for Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Wisconsin and Chair of the Lung Association’s Wisconsin Leadership Board. “Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield is proud to support the outstanding work of the American Lung Association and we encourage everyone to sign up and experience this breathtaking fundraiser in person.”

The 2015 Climb takes place on March 21 at the US Bank Center in Milwaukee.  Registration and information are available at http://action.lung.org/ClimbMilwaukee2015 or by calling 262-703-4200.
