Connie Curran to Deliver Littlefield Leadership Lecture on Nursing Sept. 23

MADISON, Wis. – Connie Curran, EdD, RN, FAAN, will deliver the UW–Madison School of Nursing’s 2011 Littlefield Leadership Lecture on Friday, September 23, 2011, in Room 1306 of the Health Sciences Learning Center (HSLC).

The title of Curran’s lecture is Nursing Leadership: From Bedside to Boardroom.   Curran is a graduate of the UW–Madison School of Nursing and founder and CEO of Best on Board, a firm that provides education, testing, and certification services for health care trustees and executive leaders. The lecture’s focus will underscore the significance of the Institute of Medicine’s report, which called for engaging nurses as full partners with physicians and other health care professionals in a redesigned U.S. health care system.

Dean Katharyn May of UW–Madison School of Nursing will offer opening remarks at 9:15 a.m.; Connie Curran will deliver the keynote address at 9:30 a.m. Admission is free, but seating is limited. The HSLC is located at 750 Highland Ave., adjacent to UW Hospital and Clinics.
