EAU CLAIRE, Wis. — Mayo Clinic Health System facilities throughout northwest Wisconsin recently collected more than 5,000 school supplies for children attending area schools. Employees donated items from mid-July through the end of August that were given to schools and charities for the start of the school year.

Among items collected include backpacks, folders, notebooks, pens, pencils, rulers and calculators.

“It was another fantastic school supply drive,” said Mayo Clinic Health System Employee Volunteer Committee chair Lynn Salter, noting that this year’s collection surpassed last year’s contributions by more than 2,000 items. “We wish all our communities’ children a happy and healthy return to school.”
