Hospice provider to pay $25 million in whistle blower fraud case

One of the nation’s largest providers of hospice care has agreed to pay $25 million to settle a Medicare fraud case initiated after a former company nurse in Milwaukee filed a whistle blower suit. It was the second such settlement in six years for Odyssey Healthcare, Inc., which paid the federal government $12.5 million in 2006, after another Wisconsin-based employee sued. Health leaders react to Fisher's comments

Final beam placed in Gundersen’s behavioral health addition

The final beam was put into place Wednesday at Gundersen Lutheran’s new inpatient behavioral health building. The sanctuary is part of phase one of the hospital’s ongoing construction project, set to be complete in December. The building could open by January.
