Eau Claire, Wis., – Beginning June 4, 2012, the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic can be found at its new location at 836 Richard Drive in Eau Claire. The staff and volunteers are preparing to run their last clinic at its current location on Graham Avenue on Tuesday, May 29th, from 3:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The new clinic location on Richard Drive provides needed benefits such as an additional exam room, expanded patient advocate room, expanded medication dispensary with patient window for easier access, and an expanded lab and immunization area. The additional exam room will allow two more patients to be seen every hour. This is critical in helping the clinic serve their patients with greater efficiency. The new site is also conveniently located near Shopko, Sacred Heart Hospital, Mayo Clinic, Marshfield Clinic, OakLeaf Clinics and UW Health, with sufficient parking right outside its doors.

The Clinic will host an open house for its patients on June 5th. They will be able to tour the new facility on Tuesday, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 and enjoy light refreshments. Medication refills will also be available from 10:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. that time, but patients must call beforehand to receive their refills. No physician services will be provided that day.

The first patient clinic will be the Diabetic Clinic on Thursday, June 7th, from 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., which is a service for active patients only.

Starting Tuesday, June 12th, the Walk-In Clinic will begin a new format. Medication refills will be provided from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., with Walk-In/New Patients seen from 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.

The Chippewa Valley Free Clinic provides services to anyone with a limited income which keeps them from receiving needed medical care. The clinic is funded by contributions from the community through businesses partnerships, service groups, United Way and individuals who share a compassionate goal of a healthy community for all citizens.

In 2011, the Chippewa Valley Free Clinic provided 2,545 patient visits (80% from Eau Claire County), and filled 6,921 prescriptions.
