WHA: Hospital margins only tell part of the story

Margins at individual hospitals offer an incomplete financial picture of the state's hospitals and health care systems, say Wisconsin Hospital Association officials. Wisconsin's 149 hospitals averaged an 8.7 percent profit margin in 2011, while recording $1.5 billion in net income and $17.3 billion in total revenue, Wisconsin Health News reported Tuesday, citing figures from a new WHA survey. Marquette to begin $16 million dental school expansion
