MADISON- Some of the fastest drivers in the world will be backed up by UW Hospital Med Flight at next week’s Road America NASCAR time trials and race in Elkhart Lake.

One aircraft and nine members of the Med Flight team will provide emergency service to any drivers who need medical attention during the Bucyrus 200 road race events from June 20-22.  Road America is covering all expenses for Med Flight and personnel during the time trials and race.

Road America has a paved landing zone at the track to accommodate take-offs and landings in case a driver is seriously injured in a crash.

During the race, Road America will announce that Med Flight is the official air medical provider for the Bucyrus 200.

This is the fourth year in a row that Med Flight has been the official air medical provider for the time trials and race.
