Assisted living company expanding, adding 200 jobs

A company that operates assisted and independent living apartment communities for the elderly is expanding its West Allis offices, where it plans to add about 200 new jobs. Brookdale Senior Living Inc. is launching a $3.9 million expansion at its corporate support center, at 6737 W. Washington St., in the Summit Place office park, where the company now has more than 400 employees. (JOURNAL SENTINEL, 5/23)

Walker's entitlement reforms produce Medicaid net gain of 19,000

Gov. Scott Walker's changes to eligibility have resulted in a net gain of 18,955 more impoverished Wisconsinites securing health coverage under the state's Medicaid program, the governor announced Monday. In total, 81,731 childless adults earning below 100 percent of the federal poverty line gained coverage through BadgerCare, but 62,776 adults above that line lost their Medicaid benefits. Rogers Memorial Hospital Opens Posttraumatic Stress Disorder Program

(Oconomowoc, Wis.) Physical or sexual assault, a car or other accident, a natural disaster or even witnessing a life-threatening event are only some of the events that can contribute to the nearly 8 million American adults with posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD). To address this increasing community need, Rogers Memorial Hospital is opening a new adult partial hospitalization program for single-incident PTSD at their newly expanded location at Lincoln Center I in West Allis.
