WPS lands federal contract

WPS announced Friday afternoon it's been approved to administer the TRICARE For Life program for another six years. The current WPS contract for the program, formerly known as TRICARE Dual Eligible Fiscal Intermediary Contract, ran through the end of June. WPS expects it will be able to retain many of its employees who work on the TRICARE business, according to a company statement. (WHN, 7/21)

Health COOP gears up for year two with new leader

Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative exceeded its first year goal of 10,000 enrollees more than twofold. The Brookfield-based Consumer Oriented and Operated Plan, created with the help of a loan under the federal health reform law, signed up more than 24,000 members during the first open enrollment period and is already halfway to it's five-year target of 50,000.
