Madison, Wisconsin — Recognizing that the role of information technology in improving the quality of health care goes beyond electronic health records and meaningful use, the services provided by its WHITEC Services Group division will now be provided under the MetaStar brand. This change better reflects the range of services MetaStar offers to clinicians and providers, and the MetaStar name will resonate with providers throughout Wisconsin and the United States.

“The MetaStar brand is trusted and recognized in the health care industry,” said Greg Simmons, CEO of MetaStar. “This change is a logical step in leveraging the work we do in improving the efficiency and effectiveness of health care in Wisconsin and beyond.”

Since 2013, WHITEC Services Group has provided health information technology services to specialists, including meaningful use consulting and security risk assessments. These services are critical for providers looking to preserve meaningful use incentive payments received and will continue to be offered by MetaStar. The Wisconsin Health Information Technology Extension Center(WHITEC) will continue to provide assistance for primary care providers implementing electronic health records until the conclusion of grant funding in early 2015.

MetaStar, Inc. offers consulting services to improve the quality of health care, specializing in the implementation and understanding of government and legislative initiatives. MetaStar’s division, the Wisconsin Health Information Technology Extension Center, served as Wisconsin’s federally recognized Regional Extension Center since 2010.
