Nominations sought for Physician Assistant of the Year
Patients and healthcare workers encouraged to nominate an outstanding PA
Kimberly, WI – Physician assistants (PAs) play an increasingly critical role on the team of healthcare workers providing patient care. To recognize PAs for their significant contribution in offering patients with access to high quality and cost-effective health care, the Wisconsin Academy of Physician Assistants is now accepting nominations for its 2015 Wisconsin Physician Assistant of the Year Award.
Physician assistants are medically trained and licensed to provide high quality health care, treat illnesses, plan prevention strategies, and write prescriptions. PAs practice medicine as part of a physician-directed medical team, and are making health care more accessible every day.
The PA of the Year award annually honors an outstanding physician assistant who demonstrates excellence in service to patients and the community, promotes awareness of the PA’s role in healthcare to the general public, and bolsters workforce development by educating potential future PAs.
The 2015 award recipient will be honored at the WAPA Foundation Awards Banquet and PA Week Celebration, Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Osthoff Resort in Elkhart Lake. Past recipients of the award include Lindsey Kulbacki, PA-C of Green Bay, Sarah Misustin, PA-C ofMilwaukee, and Kathie Bollenbach, PA-C, of Oconto County.
Nominations are being accepted through August 31, 2015. Visit www.WAPA.org to nominate a PA today.
