Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative introduces new board members

BROOKFIELD – Members of Common Ground Healthcare Cooperative (CGHC), Eastern Wisconsin’s only nonprofit and cooperatively run health insurer, has elected new Board Directors.

All of the voting members of CGHC’s Board are individuals insured by the cooperative. Thousands of members voted in the contested election which resulted in the following five out of seven nominees being selected:

  • Mike Braun, a business consultant and teacher with considerable experience in human resources;
  • Brett Remington, who helps businesses and non-profits define and pursue performance excellence through customer knowledge, strategy development and other continuous improvement methods;
  • Chris Martin, a small business owner with experience in government regulations;
  • Peter Kappelman, a small business farm owner with a wealth of experience on cooperative boards; and
  • Dan Clarahan, an executive with several successes in start-ups, new ventures and turnaround businesses.

The newly elected directors join Keisha Krumm, Mary Rehberg, Cliff Pukel and Amy Murphy on the CGHC Board. More information on the CGHC Board of Directors can be found at www.cgcares.org/about-us/governance.

CGHC CEO Cathy Mahaffey said she’s looking forward to working with the new board. “Having consumer direction at the very top of the organization means our direction is always aligned with the needs of our members,” she said. “I’m looking forward to working with this impressive group of leaders.”
