Moore self-quarantines, Johnson doesn’t

U.S. Rep. Gwen Moore, D-Milwaukee, said that she’s self-quarantining after coming into contact with a person who’s tested positive for COVID-19.

Moore said she came into contact with the individual on March 8.

She’s consulted with the congressional Office of Attending Physician, who told her that her risk of contracting COVID-19 is low.

“While I have not shown any symptoms, I will follow guidance from public health officials and practice social distancing and self-quarantine to protect others from potential exposure,” she said in a statement

.

She called for the Senate to act on legislation addressing the pandemic passed by the House last week.

Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis., won’t self-quarantine after meeting with a diplomat later diagnosed with COVID-19, a spokesman said Monday.

Johnson was considering

the move after meeting with the member of the Spanish parliament March 2.

“After discussing with doctors, the senator did not self-quarantine,” a spokesman said. “It has also been 14 days since the senator’s contact and he is healthy and well.”
