Sixth annual Business Health Care Group golf outing raises more than $50,000 for Sojourner Family Peace Center

MILWAUKEE – September 5, 2023 – The Business Health Care Group (BHCG), a coalition of employers committed to increasing health care value in Wisconsin, held its sixth annual golf outing, On Course Fore Safe & Healthy Families, at Ironwood Golf Course in Sussex on August 17. More than 130 golfers enjoyed a great day on the course. Sponsors, golfers, individuals and organizations donating auction items raised more than $50,000 to benefit Sojourner Family Peace Center. Milwaukee-based Sojourner is the largest nonprofit provider of domestic violence prevention and intervention services in Wisconsin, serving more than 10,000 clients each year by providing an array of support aimed at helping families affected by domestic violence achieve safety, justice and well-being.

“Our sixth annual golf outing was our most successful yet. Everyone involved was truly motivated to raise money for this critical community resource and their generosity is greatly appreciated,” said BHCG Executive Director Jeff Kluever. Added Kluever, “The BHCG golf outings have now raised more than $200,000 over the last six years to benefit area nonprofits.”

Sojourner President and CEO Carmen Pitre said, “We were honored to be this year’s recipient of the BHCG’s Annual Golf Outing. The health of women, children and families is essential to our work of ending domestic violence in our community. The proceeds from this event will help us provide shelter, services, safety and – above all – hope to families in need of support. Thank you, BHCG, for your substantial contribution to our organization.”

Commented Dave Osterndorf, BHCG’s strategic consultant and chief actuary at Centivo (the event’s Platinum Sponsor and a BHCG strategic partner), “Both BHCG and Centivo recognize what an invaluable resource Sojourner is in this community. Their work contributes to bringing peace, safety and health to the people who need it most.”

In addition to Platinum Sponsor Centivo, Premier sponsors of the golf outing included, Gold Sponsor Artemis by Nomi Health, and Silver Sponsors the Milwaukee Business Journal and the Multhauf Foundation, Ltd.

A photo gallery and video capturing the day’s activities is now available on the BHCG website.
