MCW CEO to step down in 2026
Medical College of Wisconsin CEO Dr. John Raymond will step down next year.
Raymond plans to transition from his role on or about June 30, 2026. He joined MCW on July 1, 2010.
Raymond, a nephrologist and medicine professor, said he’s making the announcement now to ensure a smooth leadership transition.
“My years of leadership at MCW have given me tremendous fulfillment, and I am deeply grateful for the trust, support and collaboration that I have enjoyed,” he said.
After departing his leadership role, Raymond will continue to serve as a member of the faculty.
In the coming months, the MCW board of trustees will begin a national search for his successor.
Under Raymond’s leadership, MCW has doubled top-line revenue to $1.6 billion, increased annual philanthropic support by over 400 percent and more than doubled research spending. MCW opened campuses in Green Bay and Wausau and established a pharmacy school.
