Milwaukee suburbs shift to new phase of reopening guidelines
Suburban communities in Milwaukee County moved to the next phase of their reopening plans Friday morning.
Under the plan, retail establishments, gyms, salons and spas have a recommended capacity limit of 50 percent. The recommended capacity for bars and restaurants is now 75 percent.
The guidelines recommend capping gatherings at 50 people, rather than the previous recommended cap of 10.
Darren Rausch, director of the Greenfield Health Department, urged businesses and others to adhere to social distancing recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention as well as the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
“This a phase that we’re probably going to be in for a long time,” he told reporters Thursday. “It probably is going to carry us for the next several weeks or couple of months as we continue to look at that data and try to suppress COVID-19 in our communities.”
