DHS: 13.9 percent of Wisconsinites get COVID-19 shots, 6.1 percent fully vaccinated

A little less than 14 percent of Wisconsinites have received a COVID-19 shot, and a little more than 6 percent of the state’s population has been fully vaccinated against the illness.

Wisconsin vaccinators administered 1,186,325 doses of COVID-19 vaccine as of Sunday.

Per state data, 13.9 percent of the state’s population, or 807,981 Wisconsinites, have received first doses, and 6.1 percent, or 352,791 Wisconsinites, have received second doses.

DHS reported 423 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, for a total of 559,998.

There were no additional deaths reported. The state’s death toll is at 6,284.

An additional 3,674 people were tested, for a total of 3,155,612.

DHS considers 8,629 cases active.

The seven-day average for daily new cases is 612, up two from Sunday and down 150 from a week ago.

The seven-day average for daily new deaths is 17, the same as Sunday and down one from a week ago.

As of Sunday, the seven-day positivity rate by test was 2.6 percent, down 0.1 percentage points from Saturday and 0.5 percentage points from a week ago, per preliminary data from DHS.

Per the Wisconsin Hospital Association, there were 346 COVID-19 patients in Wisconsin hospitals, a one-day decrease of one and down 66 from last week.

There were 95 COVID-19 patients in intensive care units, up 12 from Sunday and down 23 from a week ago.
