Lucigen awarded $1.46 million R&D grant

Lucigen, a Middleton biotech firm, said Monday it has been awarded a $1.46 million grant from the National Institutes of Health to fund additional research and development, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. The Phase II Small Business Innovation Research grant will be used over the next three years to develop research tools with the potential to improve human health, the company said. Brideau leaving Columbia St. Mary’s, Mark Taylor named CEO

Leo Brideau, who has led Columbia St. Mary’s Health System since August 2001, is moving on to a senior position with its parent company Ascension Health. Mark Taylor will become CEO and president February 15, 2011. Taylor is coming from Genesys Health System in Grand Blanc, Mich., where he has been president and CEO since 2007. Before that he was President and CEO at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, which is also a member of Ascension. (WHN, 1/17)
