Care Wisconsin drops transportation services

Care Wisconsin is dropping transportation services for disabled adults and the elderly in Dane County this month, the Madison-based nonprofit confirmed this week. The care management organization is also closing its rehabilitation clinic, ending home services such as wound care and transferring its adult day center in Madison to another agency. Thompson takes board position with pharmaceutical company

Former governor Tommy Thompson, running for the U.S. Senate, has accepted a position as chairman of the board of directors for TherapeuticsMD, a specialty pharmaceutical company. In its announcement, Robert G. Finizio, the company's CEO, said the company was pleased to have Thompson on the board because of his background and understanding of the health-care industry. Ex-Columbia Hospital to be rezoned for UWM

A rezoning of the former Columbia St. Mary's Hospital to allow new uses by University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee is being recommended for approval by a Common Council committee. The Zoning, Neighborhoods and Development Committee this week voted 4-1 for the zoning change, which was recommended last year by the city Plan Commission.
